Julie Silvia has over 15 years of corporate experience in the high tech, construction and healthcare industries. She has spent much of her career supporting C-level executives in either the project management or administrative capacity.
As a project manager at a prominent Boston hospital, Julie supported a custom physician-built, billing application, where she developed a transparent scoring system for user application enhancement requests. She created an internal website and started a series of user enhancement meetings and distributed and analyzed a user survey, that she worked with the technical and business teams to progressively deliver on, ultimately improving stakeholder engagement in a resistant environment.
In the administrative management function, Julie has managed the hiring and training of administrative support staff, and has implemented many collaborative workflow initiatives. Julie has established inventory control tracking systems and document repository libraries utilizing various programs, including MS SharePoint, for which she is an expert user. While reporting to the CFO of a construction company, Julie executed a company-wide cost savings program with corporate credit cards, which maximized the annual rebate of cash to the organization. She also developed accounts payable procedures that eliminated duplication of entry.
Julie has training in multiple project management methodologies, and will use the appropriate method in alignment with the requestor's industry and category of project. Julie considers herself a preventative project professional, and is passionate about change management. Through years of multi-tasking for executives and putting out fires, she knows the importance of preventative work to mitigate risk. While not everything can be planned for, having risk responses and processes in place for what can be controlled can only lessen the potential revenue loss that comes from being ill prepared.
Julie has created various types of documentation, including establishing business letter templates, presentations, web content, marketing and newsletter creation, and collaborative procedural and workflow writing.
Julie is a Project Management Professional (PMP), certified Agile Scrum Master, and a green belt in Lean Six Sigma. She has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Communications, with a minor in writing and speech from Emerson College. She lives in Plymouth, Mass. with her husband, dog and cats and enjoys staying active outdoors playing softball, hiking, cycling or kayaking in the beautiful Cape Cod Canal region of Massachusetts.
